“Stay curious and never stop learning” Brenda Tula, Head of Logistics Services Americas at Siemens Energy

-
With 14 years of experience in Logistics and International Trade, I specialize in leading multicultural and multidisciplinary teams of professionals to drive success and innovation. Currently based in Mexico, I’m originally from Argentina and have spent 13 years with Siemens in various roles, including operations and leadership in departments such as Customs and Logistics. I’m passionate about creating inclusive work environments and am an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Outside of work, I’m happily married (we’ve been together for 11 years) and share my home with a dog and a cat who are equally loved.
Nominated by Agustin Harriague.
What is the best advice someone has ever given you?
“Be yourself and stay passionate.” This is the best advice I’ve ever received. I truly believe that when you engage in activities with enthusiasm, it makes all the difference. Passion drives impact, and authenticity builds trust—both essential for success.
What advice would you give us?
I have a lot of advice to share, but one principle stands out: stay curious and never stop learning. Cultivating a mindset of exploration and growth opens new opportunities and perspectives, both professionally and personally. Curiosity drives innovation, adaptability, and continuous improvement—key factors for success in any field.
An essential quality to lead…
Lead with empathy. I believe that empathetic leaders create a safe environment where colleagues and team members trust one another, leading to open and honest communication. When leaders show empathy, they foster a culture where people feel valued, motivated, and empowered to do their best work.
What book, podcast, YouTube channel or any other type of content do you recommend us…
I recommend the movie ‘The Pursuit of Happiness.’ Although it’s an older film, it offers invaluable lessons: never give up, take ownership of your life, seek out opportunities, and pursue them relentlessly. It also emphasizes the importance of always giving your best, no matter the circumstances. These are powerful messages that resonate both personally and professionally.
What historical figure would you like to have on your team?
Lionel Messi, without a doubt. We’ve witnessed many aspects of his life—his failures, victories, and unwavering perseverance. He never gives up. Messi is not only a remarkable athlete, but also a great leader. In my view, he is the best in his field and respects other leaders, including coaches. He inspires both his teammates and other teams, creating an environment of trust where everyone feels motivated and valued.
Have you always been clear about your professional objective?
Not always, and I believe that’s perfectly fine. As time goes by, people evolve, and so do their aspirations. For me, the most important thing is that, whether your objective is short-term or long-term, you pursue it with all your passion and dedication.
What is the bravest decision you have made in our life?
Moving to another country.” I’m originally from Argentina and recently moved to Mexico to take on a new role at Siemens Energy. Personally, it was a difficult decision because it was the first time I’d been far from my family and friends. However, it was something I had wanted to do for years, and I didn’t want to regret not taking the chance in the future. I truly believe this new opportunity will bring valuable experiences, and I’ll gain many life lessons along the way.
What is the most curious app you have on your mobile?
Abillion. As a vegan, this app helps me find vegan restaurants or places with vegan options around the world. I use it every time I travel. Additionally, when I try a new dish, I can share my experience on the app, helping others discover new places to eat.
What do people assume about you, and that isn’t true?
People often assume that I have all the answers, but that isn’t true. Like everyone else, I am constantly learning and growing from my experiences.
What do you admire and do not tolerate in a person?
I admire resilience because it shows the ability to overcome challenges and adapt to difficult situations. On the other hand, I do not tolerate dishonesty or disrespect. Mutual respect is fundamental for healthy relationships.
Which three top managers would you like to nominate?
Martín Gómez Recalde, Head of sales Latin America at Siemens Energy.
Karen Valle, Head of Finance for Grid Technologies Services LATAM at Siemens Energy.
Lorena Pulido, Customs Manager at Siemens Energy.
